I'm from Houston, Tx. but I prefer east and westcoast music over my own hometown music. Don't get me wrong I jam OLDSCHOOL south music. to tell you the truth, all the coast were the shit back in the day but I can't stand none of the new artist and I'm only 27 yet I feel like some fuckin 50 year old man reminiscing now that's crazy

Saying Guru is overrated may be an exaggeration. Gang Starr is definitely one of the best hip hop groups and they are infinitely better than the vast majority of hip hop these days, I'm just asking people to look at music critically and not assume it's perfect in every aspect just because it sounds better than most. Guru can be a real poet when he raps about a real topic and that's why it's so disappointing and sad to hear him waste bars bragging when he's capable of so much better.
