I hear ya man !! as a sax player I use to try to play along with record, well --- I tried !! -- but it's impossible, so I'll stick to just watching the video. Fuck !!! I'd sell my sole to play like that.

Yes incredibly fast and incredibly tight; amazing!
Xepherya: Not your fault if you don't undestand what's going here. Put it this way: Steely Dan is undergrad stuff and this is post-Doctorate.

i don't think I could even manage two notes of the fucking head let alone solo over it. this is funk right off the spectrum...Breckers rule, RIP Michael.

I played this with my combo at a festival of music. It was fun. We took it a little slower though.

We used to use this as a "break tune" back in the 70's. We played the head, but no one could really solo over it. The Bros. still "rule." Take that, you punk ass "DJs" and other assorted no-playing A Holes.

How can u tell what is jazz or not if you dont know what tune Ko Ko is? Just asking.. And btw, Fusion is a style within the genre of jazz influenced by rock, funk and electronic instruments, so literary it is jazz...

And ofcourse you have the right to not like it.. And anybody who dont respect your opinion is not open minded and accpeting people.. But to generalize it and say "It IS junk" is completely wrong.. You step on peoples feet, and disrespect them so how can you claim that we should respect you? RIP Michael Brecker, im your biggest fan :)

Calling this shit, is a little bit harsh, isn't it? ;) I actually like this version in the 160'is, but I also enjoy the studio version where its more like 134. So I have a bit of a mixed opinion? Speaking of opinion, I think you guys should calm down for a while, and let this fine human being have his opinion. I mean, you are all throughing your opinions at him, telling him right or wrong, but his not insulting you? :)

Mmm perhaps, but I do appreciate the response. I'm a girl by the way ;-) Hey, I'd be willing to give the studio version a shot too. I'm actually a big fan of Dave Brubeck's "Take Five", but there's this one version where it's played so INSANELY fast, it just sounds like crap to me...no time to enjoy the music. I feel the same way when people rush through Beethoven's Pathetique....speed is impressive...when you can still make out notes

Does anybody think if chambers is playing with a double pedal? It sounds like more noise than a single could do throughout the song.

James is not Yawning at 3:41, he is clearing his ears from being pressurized from inhaling through his nose to cut down on the sonic respones from the high volume from Dennis Chambers Drums. Lol I know I was in his head at that show>
